As a buyer specialist for over 20 years I've come across the good, bad and ugly when it comes to new construction. One might think, "It's new construction, how hard could it be?" Let me tell you, buying a new construction home can be an absolute nightmare. You really don't know how it's going to go until the process is underway. The main challenge is that you're essentially buying a home that doesn't exist yet. Unlike a resale you can't touch it, see it, smell it, see what type of light it will have...all you have to go off of is a floor plan, community site map, marketing materials and a model home with insane upgrades. Moreover, every builder has a different contract, process, representatives and workers building the home.
My buyers are in the early stages of purchasing their first home in Monroe from Tri Pointe homes. The Woods at Vista Creek neighborhood sits on 40 acres of protected open area and a large community park. Single family homes in this neighborhood are mostly under 1million currently and buyers have a ton of options to customize their home at the design studio. I've never worked with Tri Pointe and my buyers have never owned a home. So far the experience has been nothing short of excellent.
Starting with the sales staff, our point of contact is Mathew Clark. Mathew has been extremely friendly, helpful and responsive. This is the first time a site agent has started a group text with me and my buyers to enhance communication. Mathew even walks to the site and takes a video periodically so we can see how the build is going. He narrates it and talks to us as if we are there with him which, in my opinion is going above and beyond as a seller rep. Today we met with the superintendent Tyler who was absolutely phenomenal. I really appreciated how he shared some things about himself to foster trust with my buyers for the duration of the build. Tyler didn't rush us and seemed genuinely happy to be working for Tri Pointe. Tyler was friendly, patient and proud of the homes he’s building. Our framing walk through was excellent- lumber looked clean, dry and fresh and the framers were hard at work.
Overall I’m super excited for my clients to purchase their first home from this builder! If the end product is anywhere near their customer service it will be one of the best new construction experiences I've had. So far so good!
